On my pre-WLTP GTI+, the pops were so quiet, you could hardly hear them when the car was new. You definitely couldn't hear them from inside the car unless you were listening for them with the audio system off. I'd say, with 4500 miles on the clock that they're even quieter or non-existent on mine now. I've been unaware they're happening (If they're happening) for about 2000 miles.

They weren't very loud from inside the car on that video, at a standstill and with no radio/audio playback. Add in Planet Rock on DAB and tyre roar/wind noise and no wonder I can barely hear it. Presumably pedestrians that I drive past think it sounds sporty.

Personally I wouldn't know if it sounded like a load of tin cans.

From what I’ve read, the new model has USB ports in the back and a totally redesigned exhaust system with a GPF (or ODF if you’re on the continent). The exhaust system has apparently been engineered to sound the same, ensure the car delivers the same performance, but fewer / no ‘pops & bangs’ due to the GPF - which doesn’t bother me. Are there any other changes that anyone is aware of?
"Scuff plates in door apertures (illuminated)" has been mentioned as being present in standard spec in the UK configurator, but I haven't seen them or heard of anyone substantiating this.
Are scuff plates the same as the door sill protectors with the GTI logo? If so, would that mean they now have some type of lighting behind them? Or is this something different?

Guys, this week I will have a comparison video with stock and my gpf-back exhaust for Polo GTI.

For now I changed springs to H&R, fairly good ride, sits much lower, it is stiffer but ok for everyday drive ;)

I find the pops to be louder in Manual Mode M1 only when accelerating up to 4000 rpm and then deceleration.

i think a downpipes will make it louder.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! In Poland its not that good as well regarding roads, but it was a must have for me.

Regarding downpipe I will make one as soon as someone cracks this new ECU...

Out of the blue VW UK executive office emailed me today with a confirmed build date of April 1st. (April's fool for sure.)
My tracker hasn't said a thing. I think after 13 months it's given up.

Just read that Porsche have written to customers saying that in the case of a no deal Brexit a 10% tariff will go on the car price even if already ordered. If VW try this they can keep it.

The German car industry needs the UK to survive and will surely drop their prices 10% because they love UK customers so much /sarcasm

Germany will be prepared to take a hit re the UK, always thought it. The euro makes them more competitive than having the Deutschemark back. They are one of the gainers and so 'the project' must continue.

According to AutoCar - Porsche has told customers who ordered after January 18th about a possible up to 10% tariff. Orders before that are not affected.
