Handbrake light stays on, microswitch terminals are corroded.

So I recently bought my VW polo used, bit of a basket case but can't ask for much when you're paying £500.

Anywho, the handbrake warning light stays on, I popped off the trim to take a look, adjusted the handbrake, still got the light. So then I went and messed around with the microswitch, it didn't turn off the light when I pressed it so I checked the cable going into the switch itself and it was pretty coroded, blue and white corrosion at the tips.

Now my issue is getting it out of the plastic housing without breaking it, I popped the bottom open but that's as far as I've gotten with it, can't get the terminals out of the hole, whats the deal? are they glued in? or do I have to actually break the housing to get to them? and if so where do I get a replacement?
