I've got a set of BBS GTi splities being refurbed and I'm getting the centres done in satin black while I hand strip and re-polish the rims - that lacquer is a pain as the salt and water gets underneath it and corrodes from within - anyway I digress - black hides the brake dustGaryUK wrote:Not sure what you mean mate.bstardchild wrote:Not if you get the centres done in satin black

Oh I see, I didn't clean my wheels for about 3 weeks and they looked black! Pain in the ass but they do look the best.bstardchild wrote:I've got a set of BBS GTi splities being refurbed and I'm getting the centres done in satin black while I hand strip and re-polish the rims - that lacquer is a pain as the salt and water gets underneath it and corrodes from within - anyway I digress - black hides the brake dustGaryUK wrote:Not sure what you mean mate.bstardchild wrote:Not if you get the centres done in satin black

Yup. The BBS rims definitely need cleaning every week - twice a week if the weather isn't up to much! At the moment I'm using Autoglym "clean wheels" every fortnight with a wheel brush and a sponge, cleaning each wheel for about 10 mins - takes ages to get in around the bolts!
Aaaand yes, the brake dust is a nightmare lol. I was thinking about getting some EBC greenstuff pads as they claim to give out a lot less dust. That'd make my life a bit easier!

They don't give a lot less dust. The color of the dust is grey and not black. That's the big difference. When you take your finger over your wheel you'll see it's as dirty as it was with the other pads. But it camouflages itselfSi_GTi wrote:Yup.
