Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
Just a question about the auto-locking in the Polo.
My usual routine in my Golf was to unlock the car, get in, lock the doors manually and then start the car up and drive away. When I get where I'm going I turn the car off. The doors never used to unlock themselves until you opened a door from the inside. This might be because the Golf was keyless but I'm not sure.
In the Polo my routine is exactly the same, unlock the car, get in, lock the doors manually and then start the car up and drive away. But I've found when I turn the car off and remove the key from the ignition the doors automatically unlock.
Is there a way to stop the car doing this?
I've looked through the car settings but can't find anything.
Sometimes I turn the car off and catch up on admin on my phone and would prefer to have the doors remain locked.

Why don't you just leave the keys in the ignition while doing your admin?

Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
I could be wrong, but I am sure that in the settings of the car, there is an option of auto lock when you enter the vehicle, this may be help your needs.
Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
I thought the same and the only option I can find is selecting which doors it locks/unlocks on pressing the fob. You can set it to one press opens driver door, 2 presses all doors or to 1 press opens all doors. Other than that I can't find any other options.R15KXK wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:45 pm I could be wrong, but I am sure that in the settings of the car, there is an option of auto lock when you enter the vehicle, this may be help your needs.

Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
Under 'car' then 'settings'
There's the choice to locks all doors, driver's door etc.
Then there's autolock.
Then there's 'interior monitoring', which can be switched off to allow you to move around in the car and not set the alarm off.
That seems to be your lot.

So does that mean there is no way to stop the car auto-locking on key release?Andy Beats wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 2:35 pm Under 'car' then 'settings'

Perhaps it's something that can be enabled with VCDS / ODB11 et al.

Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
Correct, if the doors have auto locked, they will auto unlock when the key is removed

It makes sense, really.
Keys out = you're leaving the car.
Not many people takes the keys out if they're staying in the car......

Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
Now that my car is built and in transit I have an AW Polo VIN to stick in to OBDEleven and there is an option in it to disable this function, plus many other things, maybe worth you purchasing it OP.

Re: Door Locks & Auto Locking/Unlock
My dealer has sent me a screenshot of my cars info from the VW system.

Yeah. I'm looking into OBDEleven. It just becomes expensive as we're an Apple household so would need to also buy an Android device of some sort for this to run on.Griff74 wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 9:26 am Now that my car is built and in transit I have an AW Polo VIN to stick in to OBDEleven and there is an option in it to disable this function, plus many other things, maybe worth you purchasing it OP.![]()
Do you have a list of what can be changed?
