New Brochure and Price Increase effective 01/04/2019

Post by SRGTD »

There’s an updated brochure (effective 01/04/2019) on the VW website. Looks as if there’s been a small price increase. I don’t have a copy of the previous brochure for details of price increases of specific models or options, but I recently configured a Polo GTI+ to my spec, and the same car including my selected options has increased £155 in price.

About £100 added to mine.
Also, was the red paint, black roof an option before?

I think VW’s PCP deposit contribution has also changed - it’s now £750 (was it previously £1,000?). VW website is a little confusing on whether the deposit contibution offer includes the GTI and GTI+; on the left hand side of the page at the link below, it states that it’s available on the GTI and GTI+ models, but under the T’s and C’s at the bottom of the page it states that they are excluded from the offer. I suspect they’re excluded, as they weren’t eligible for the previous £1,000 deposit contribution.

If you go on the finance calculator, GTI and GTI+ show as £0 deposit contribution. Nothing to be had there (otherwise I'd take finance and withdraw when our 2nd GTI+ comes). Anyone with an order already in will not be affected by the price rise, unless they alter their existing order by adding/removing options enough to effectively make VWUK see it as a fresh order.

Isn't it possible the PCP contributions are dealer-related, rather than generic to VW?
So shop around.

Deposit contributions are sanctioned by VWFS for taking out finance. When you buy a VW on their finance with a £1000 deposit contribution, they're effectively knocking £1000 off your balance owed.

Any discount negotiated will usually be seen as your deposit contribution e.g. haggel £2k off a £20k car and it'll read like you paid full RRP and gave a deposit of £2k on most finance summaries.

Some manufacturers do both (BMW do dealership contributions but probably get a discount from BMW when finance is taken up)
