I was thinking about buying a Polo SEL last year but was put off by the long delivery times. I had heard about the T-Cross being released in early 2019 and have been monitoring the situation. I ordered an SEL T-Cross with a few extras on 7th March and it is being built week 16 I.e. week beginning 15th April with delivery 4 weeks later. That’s 10/11 weeks from order to delivery. It is built in Pamplona so no long sea trip to get here.
Yes, it is a little bit more expensive but is very well equipped. It is only a few cm longer than the Polo but bigger inside with a bigger boot. Surprisingly VW are offering £1000 towards deposit on PCP. Maybe worth considering if you don’t want a long wait? No use if you want a GTi though!

Re: T-Cross vs Polo delivery times
I've ordered a Polo R line back in December 2018. I was told yesterday that lead times for the R-line polo are sitting at 18 months!!!! So going to be going into the dealership to see what they can do to offer me an alternative vehicle and maybe the T-cross R line.arkay wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 9:50 pm I was thinking about buying a Polo SEL last year but was put off by the long delivery times. Re: T-Cross vs Polo delivery times
A T-cross with the 1.0Tsi engine must be horrific.
Even if it's the 115bhp version, it's going to be even slower than a Polo because of the greater weight and height (worse aerodynamics).
Avoid like the plague.
EDIT - I've just read it comes with the 95bhp engine too.....dear lord.....

Re: T-Cross vs Polo delivery times
Thanks Andy Beats for posting your opinion about the 115PS T-Cross. I made sure I had a long test drive in an Arona with the same engine. It drove very well - smooth and quite responsive. Yes it is best to keep the revs above 2000 to make good progress. I expect the T-Cross to be no different. I think ‘horrific’ is a bit extreme without trying it. There have been quite a few reviews/videos of the T-Cross now that it has been released on the continent and the general view is very positive.
