Reducing radio volume when reversing...

Post by steeve »

Have a GTI plus, is it possible to get the radio volume to reduce when the reversing sensors are activated?

With my previous generation Polo, if parking sensors are fitted, the radio volume does reduce when I reverse. I’m assuming that adjusting the slider control (sliding it to the left) for the ‘Entertainment fading (parking)’ volume setting in the ‘vehicle settings’ that reduces the radio volume. I’ve not adjusted it from its current setting but the description suggests this should alter the volume when reversing.

Touch the ‘Car’ button beside the infotainment screen, select ‘settings’ (in the previous generation Polo, its a cog wheel symbol on the bottom right of the screen). Go into the ‘Parking and Manoeuvring’ menu and you should see a number of options - this is mine for the previous generation Polo - ‘Entertainment fading’ is the bottom item;

The volume stays low until the car locks it's self.
