Re: New GTI + delivery
That would be a ridiculously quick Emden turnaround to get off the Sunlight and onto the City of Sunderland in less than 24 hours. I have been assuming that my 2nd GTI+ is on the Sunlight too (with Gnome's, but mine is unconfirmed as I haven't heard from my dealer) and mine will be Grimsby bound for the suppplying dealership down at Listers Nuneaton before being trailered up to me in Newcastle. We're nearly 2 months after new plate day - can't imagine there's that many cars coming over to make it a long wait.Bramcoteboy27 wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:30 pm City of Sunderland is leaving Emden bound for Grimsby maybe just maybe

On reflection I S’pose it wasn’t a good idea, But back in January 18 when I ordered the car, I ordered a personalised 18 number plate. Then when the 19’s where issued I bought another
Let’s hope I get the car before the next series is issued

Re: New GTI + delivery
First post here, so here goes.
I'm trading in my 2yr old GTD Variant, didn't want to get rid of it really but taxes up here are awful and I'll no longer need a large diesel car. Anyway I went for an informal chat with my dealer and he looked at the listings. He found a GTI that was available and already on the boat heading for Europe. Spec is GTI, reef blue, 18" wheels, nav, beats audio and a few other small things. I wasn't really happy with the colour but he said we can order from the factory but waiting time is about 7 months.
I thought he was taking the mick because he wanted to get that deal done, looks like the waiting times are huge.
Glad I took his offer, I expect to see it here in about a month.

Mine is the same. Been told there's a good chance of collection next weekend but yep tracker still says 'In Transit' (supposes that's technically right, it's coming down on a transporter).AshleyScrivens wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 5:29 pm Mines due to arrive at the dealership tomorrow yet the tracker says it’s still at sea [emoji23]

Re: New GTI + delivery
I’ll pick my gti plus up on Friday the tracker still suck on 5 still in transit makes you laugh really. Considering VW own Audi there tracker is much better as you have videos of when you car goes through each stage plus it up to date. But I glad the wait is nearly over.As been out a car since January as someone pulled out on me and had my two year old Audi A1 written off. So hopefully it will be happy days and all things goes well for me with the new car

Re: New GTI + delivery
As predicted I just had a call from the dealer and it's not arriving today and I will now be picking it up on Friday
Re: New GTI + delivery
Heard nothing about car since being told it was on the Glovis Sunlight last week. Ship has been and left Emden, the waiting game continues
Keeping an eye on ships entering the Tyne using https://www.portoftyne.co.uk/marine-inf ... -movements if anyone is interested.
