Re: New GTI + delivery
Just for peoples reference I ordered mine on 3rd January and just spoke to the dealer and it's ETA has been pushed back from the last week of July to the last week of October.
Re: New GTI + delivery
Also just got a call to say mine has arrived at the dealership came from Sheerness (arrived there on 23/04).
He couldn’t tell me when I could pick it up though as when I ordered mine (Feb 2018) I managed to get the years free insurance, which they don’t do anymore. He reckons that alone can take up to three days.
My tracker is also still on 5b.
Can’t believe I’ll be driving around in it soon, was sure it was a myth

Ha...
Meanwhile, I've nipped to the toilet, you'll probably get picked up before I return to the dance floor and it will be just me... while All By Myself chimes out.

Oh God how could they miss something like that!!! At least it's a relatively easy fix, the dealer doing it or they getting Autoglass?

Re: New GTI + delivery
You’d have thought or hoped that something like that would’ve been spotted as part of post-build QC checks at the factory or dealer PDI.
Issues such as fitting odd / incorrect parts does happen though. There’s been a few mentions over time on golfgtiforum.co.uk of cars with leather seats being fitted with door cards with cloth inserts rather than ‘pleather’ inserts, and some with just one odd door card!
Hopefully it’s quickly rectified to the OP’s satisfaction, and the dealer or glass repair / replacement company that does the job doesn’t damage the surrounding panels or trim in the process.

I hope they fix it properly. Dealer said they would order the glass from VW so at least they are not going to just stick a film on from a aftermarket shop. Don’t fancy having the trim removed or having anyone wash it. Already has minor swirls from dealer. My Audi got minor scratches all over after a dealer washed it, some looked white like through clear coat. Would have hoped the QC would have picked it up. Dealer said it was a 1st for them, that’s a second first to go with the 60 week order to delivery

Make sure you tell the dealer not to wash your car.c4s2rs6 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 10:38 pm I hope they fix it properly. I always make it clear to the dealer that they are not to wash my car whenever it goes back for servicing or repair work. I try and make certain the car has just been cleaned when it goes back to the dealer so a) they can see it’s well cared for and b) there’s absolutely no need for them to wash it.
I have a ‘Do not wash this vehicle’ hanger that I attach to the rear view mirror - like this one;
https://www.carboncollective.com/produc ... -pvc-hook/
I also tie ‘do not wash’ tag on my keys, and get the service advisor to write a similar instruction on their job sheet. It’s worked so far.
I like my car to look good and I put quite a lot of effort into keeping that way. I don’t want my efforts being undone by some sponge monkey at the dealer’s with a grit laden sponge and bucket of dirty water giving it that ‘just scoured’ look!
