Hi all,
Will hopefully be a polo owner soon. I was wondering if anyone with a new polo can confirm if the virtual cockpit is able to display the VW navigation mapping at the same time as the main infotainment display showing android auto or apple car play navigation?
Thanks

You can move Nav to the drivers display IF you have the virtual cockpit (no physical dials, replaced by a screen which replicates your dials, among other things).on your carJamie_Posh wrote: Thu May 09, 2019 11:59 am Hi all,

And with the mapping on the virtual cockpit are you able to use android auto for navigation at the same time on the main infotainment display? Or does it switch the virtual cockpit to the compass view as it does with VW mapping on the main display?monkeyhanger wrote: Thu May 09, 2019 12:12 pmYou can move Nav to the drivers display IF you have the virtual cockpit (no physical dials, replaced by a screen which replicates your dials, among other things).on your carJamie_Posh wrote: Thu May 09, 2019 11:59 am Hi all,

Re: Android auto and VW nav at the same time
If you have Android Auto running on the maps page then you can't have the VW nav running in the dash, at least in the Ibiza (OK not a VW, but it's the same system!). Haven't tried seeing if you can be using Spotify or whatever over Android Auto as an audio source while having the factory nav running in the dash!
Google Maps or Waze is light years ahead of the VW system though so it really doesn't bother me. If I was buying a new Polo I wouldn't bother specifying the nav, I'd just get the Active Info display and stick with Google Maps. Aside from playing with it I've used it a grand total of 1 time since I got the Ibiza, and I found it lacking (only used it because my phone was dead, and I wanted to get going ASAP). Unless you're getting an SEL, where it's part of the spec, save your money or get something else that's more useful like cruise or climate control. I would never pay for factory nav when Google is so good!

Re: Android auto and VW nav at the same time
Just to add- if you set the Active Info display to the nav setting while Android Auto is active on the main display, you get a 'Navigation is active on the mobile device' message.
