New member with a polo

Post by Customvinyl »

Hi there,
I’ve just registered today and I picked up my new car yesterday.
It’s a VW Polo, 2015. It’s a 3 door, in silver. 1.4 turbo diesel bluemotion.
I have no idea what mark of Polo this is, it’s my first one so I’m not up to speed on the lingo yet.

I’m looking in to tweaks and little mods I can do to it, in the past I have retrofitted my cars with manufacturer spec stuff like cruise control and automatic lights and wipers. Both things my last car had that this one doesn’t and I miss already. Loving everything else about it though.

I need some new centre cap decals too, but I run a business as a sign writer and do vinyl printing and domed stickers so these won’t be any problem to sort out :)

I hope to read a lot of stuff about the polo over the next few days and see what can be done to it.

Hello and Welcome!

Do you have any pics??

I’m not sure you can retrofit things like cruise control and auto wipers and lights etc on this car, well not cheaply anyway!

Can I ask why you went for a more basic polo tdi and not a higher spec one with all those bits on it if that’s what you are used to?

I’ll upload some pics shortly.
The short answer is this is the one they had that was available. My previous car (56 plate Megane) was past it.

Welcome to the forum.

Are you looking for aesthetic mods, technical or a bit of both?

Bit of both really. I like to keep myself busy and I’m quite capable of general wiring. Aesthetic mods are always good.

There are plenty of threads with mods that people have done on here,

Few of mine :

16mm spacers on rear alloys
Heko wind deflectors
Front eyelids
Rear wiper delete
Black out badges
Rear light clusters swapped out
Front fog lights changed for LEDs

Upcoming mods :
10.1" Seicane android head unit
DVR front Camera,
Reversing Camera
Remus cat back exhaust
Stage 1 remap

Hope that gives you some ideas. Look forward to seeing what you get up to [emoji106]

Ohh I do like that!
Being a sign maker I’ve got access to vinyl so I could wrap things like the roof and mirrors. That looks awesome.

Thank you,

How about rear window tints too like mine? Thinking about getting some wind deflectors too.

Yes rear window tints are looking great. I can also do that in house so I can improve the look of the car for very minimal outlay at the start.
Wind deflectors would set it off nicely

To add, the one alloy with the dodgy centre cap should be sorted soon, the resin is curing on the centre cap decal I’ve made so when I get a few mins to clean the centre cap up I’ll pop the new logo decal on there.

Is my polo a 6r or a 6c? Or something else? I’m still not up to speed on the different models just yet.
