The day has finally arrived. Car now happily sat on my drive.
Initial thoughts.
Better hugging seats. Larger car feel and appeal obviously.
Car was set in normal mode and I felt it a more superior ride to my 6c in normal mode. Soaked up the road beautifully.
How it feels on those twisty roads compared to the 6c will be interesting.
I'm waiting for peak traffic and poor weather to depart so out later.

That long wait is finally over John. I think you must be eligible for the prize for being the forum member who’s waited longest for their GTI+ since ordering it.

Enjoy your car now you’ve got it 🙂.

I'm really pleased for you John. You must have waited the longest at 18 months! Lesser men would have cancelled before now!
Interesting comment about the ride. I opted for Parker's for that extra bit of resilience (plus they're Michelin's!) as roads around here aren't the best.
Go and enjoy your car :D

I've had mine in sport setting for the past couple of days.
Didn't really notice the ride difference too much.
In fact, when I checked what mode I'd had set for the past couple of days, I was surprised it was in sport.
I had gotten used to the slightly jigglier ride and it's not actually all that bad.
Normal ride is great though.

Nearly there Paul
You ordered yours a week before me. I'm still at 5a. At least the car has now been built. Likely an early July delivery if all goes well.

Wow! The ride must have improved a lot over that of the GTI 6C. I have a 6C with the Sport button and there's no mistaking when that is on! Maybe I ought to have opted for 18" wheels. I'm still torn between those to the Parker's. Too late now; new car has only recently been built. I'm sure the Parker's will be fine! The better half preferred them so who am I to argue

I have Parkers.
This also gives you less hassle being fitted with the Michelin tyres whereas many here have felt the need to fork out to change out the Bridgestone tyres that come on the Brescia wheel.

Yes. I've read the Michelin/Bridgstone posts! One up for the Parker's! I was also conscious about ease of cleaning. Coming from a 6C, who's wheels are a b***h to properly clean, I didn't want that hassle anymore. I have read though that the 18" one's are not as bad as they look.

Yes, the Bridgestones are poor, but neither the Turanzas or the Primacys are sporting tyres, they're touring tyres - VW shouldn't be putting touring tyres on a hot hatch. They've a history of putting tramp happy Bridgestone Potenzas on Golf GTI/GTD and R. I had them on my last 2 Golfs and they ruined the cars until I swapped them out.

Just got £210 for the white GTI+ set of tyres on Ebay, from a guy with a GTI+ who must think they're alright. So the cost to change for me has been £105 (set of Michelins cost me £315 with a Costco promotion) - technically £106, with a £1 selling fee.

Still prefer the Brescia wheel by a long way - but would take 18" Pretoria wheels over either (and they're painted not diamond cut).
