Hi everyone.
I hope I have posted on the right forum.
I hope someone can help me. My polo has a problem with starting when it’s hot. I’ve been told after a diagnostic that it’s the crankshaft sensor this was after getting the throttle fixed. Went to another garage and they can’t locate the part. He took off the inlet manifold but still no sensor. Anyone have any ideas on how to find or where it is on the polo 2003 auto? Does the starter motor need to come out. If you can help I’d really appreciate it. Thank you sofi. I’ve added pictures of the manifold off.

If you mean the crankshaft sensor and not the camshaft sensor I think it's by the flywheel. If I recall correctly there is a plastic assembly behind the flywheel on the engine block and the actual sensor might be plugged into that, possibly accessible from adjacent the starter motor.

Glad you got it fixed. Was that at a VW garage or an independent?
