Re: Carbon Parts and Aero.
I'm already looking for a roof spoiler, but not one just to stick on... I would like to find a functional roof spoiler.
Preferably an adjustable one, that if I so desire will give me some proper downforce at speed.
I travel at high speeds regularly and the car gets jumpy at high speeds. Driving it at constant speeds in excess of 110 mph is just tiresome in this car... I would think a proper spoiler would glue that backside to the road somewhat.
If I won't find one, I'll make one myself

Is this 110 MPH on the race track or private land ???????? If it's on the highway, hope you have a push bike handy????fazzy wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:52 am I'm already looking for a roof spoiler, but not one just to stick on... I would like to find a functional roof spoiler.

I think silverhairs’ subtle attempt at humour is implying that if you drive at that speed on the public highway and get caught by the police, then (in the UK) you’ll loose your driving licence and be banned from driving.

Really would love some decent accessories for my car. Most notably a small rear lip spoiler. similar to what you get on the R line and gti models

NO, I was being serious about some idiot doing 110 MPH down the Motorway, should have his licence taken away for 5 years minimum, and have his car crushed with a £2000.00 fine.SRGTD wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:56 pmI think silverhairs’ subtle attempt at humour is implying that if you drive at that speed on the public highway and get caught by the police, then (in the UK) you’ll loose your driving licence and be banned from driving.

Re: Carbon Parts and Aero.
Looking at the poll so far, its even-stevens on gloss black & carbon fibre.
We'll keep an eye on this poll and hopefully by the end of next week we'll have a good idea.
FYI In terms of price point, and to better inform your choice, this is what we're looking at... all estimates and subject to revision btw..
Gloss Black:
Front Splitter: £150
Side Skirts: £160
Diffuser: £180
Spoiler: £190
Carbon Fibre (CFRP):
Front Splitter: £260
Side Skirts: £280
Diffuser: £300
Spoiler: £240

Re: Carbon Parts and Aero.
Just because where you live, someone imposed a lousy speed limit on everybody, doesn't mean that everywhere else in the world the speed limit is the same... I hate to be the one breaking this to you, but there are places in the world where the speed limits are even lower and you cruising 70 mph would be called an idiot and a potential killer and there is some places where there is no speed limits ... And people driving 110-130 or 160 mph are not regarded as idiots... that must be a new concept to some people. So I'll tell you what... Stick to the topic. Don't make a mess out of the forum. It's already messy and things are hard to find. The guy asked what body kit parts we are looking for so I wrote what I need. If you don't like it, start your own topic about speed limits around the world.silverhairs wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:41 pmNO, I was being serious about some idiot doing 110 MPH down the Motorway, should have his licence taken away for 5 years minimum, and have his car crushed with a £2000.00 fine.SRGTD wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:56 pmI think silverhairs’ subtle attempt at humour is implying that if you drive at that speed on the public highway and get caught by the police, then (in the UK) you’ll loose your driving licence and be banned from driving.
As far your theory goes, try it in Germany... see how that goes down with the public...

Yes, it is okey to drive 110 or 160 mph in AUTOBAHN, but it is not ok to drive that fast if there is a speedlimits.fazzy wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:54 pm Just because where you live, someone imposed a lousy speed limit on everybody, doesn't mean that everywhere else in the world the speed limit is the same... We have on our TV, a programme where films from peoples dash cams are shown. The majority of shots are taken from either Russian or Polish dash cams. And the driving is abysmal. You can keep your 110 MPH if that's the way you drive over there in Warsaw.

Re: Carbon Parts and Aero.
In most countries, speed limits have consideration for fuel economy as well as safety, at 110mph cruising speed, you're probably only averaging 20mpg as air resistance increases substantially.
In Germany, use of unrestricted Autobahn comes with stricter laws regarding tyre condition. A newish Polo GTI with decent brakes is probably a lot safer than some of the other 110mph traffic sharing the road.
For the products in this thread - black gloss gets my vote.
