Re: "Strange arrow?"
From someone that knows nothing about the current Polo, I'd be logical and suggest that it is where the "speed limiter" value has been set.
Maybe even the set value for cruise?

Re: "Strange arrow?"
It's your fuel consumption.
Goes up and down as you drive. Higher it is, the better your mpg.

Make sense.
Will look it.

Re: "Strange arrow?"
Hi on mine this shows the current fuel consumption the 12 o clock mark on mine is 30 miles per gallon.
The red arrow moves up and down as the average consumption changes.
Hope this makes sense.

Re: "Strange arrow?"
Just returned from a ride.

Re:
I believe jsybrian has a GTI+. Could be many factors influencing their fuel consumption; e.g. predominantly short journeys at peak times in inner town/city areas won’t do wonders for fuel consumption. Or maybe they’re just enjoying the driving experience of GTI ownership.Slider09 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 5:03 pm30mpg in a Polo!! Re: "Strange arrow?"
I live in Jersey Channel Islands 40mph speed limit all town driving.
Was only saying the twelve o clock position equates to 30 mpg .
I am lucky to see about 28 mpg average. Previous was a Mercedes A250 lucky to see 20 mpg.

Re: "Strange arrow?"
I’ve spent more time at the gas station than I’d like to ever since I got my GTI 2 weeks ago. I primarily do city driving and average about 12 km/l or roughly 35 imperial MPG.jsybrian wrote:I live in Jersey Channel Islands 40mph speed limit all town driving.

I was honestly expecting more, because of the bigger engines low end torque and rather economical gearing. Meh

Re:
35mpg on city driving is pretty good for a performance petrol car. The taller gearing pays dividends on the motorway. 45mpg average on a 90 mile journey maintaining 80mph, over 50mpg on the same journey if you maintain 70mph cruising speed.phillos wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 10:25 pmI’ve spent more time at the gas station than I’d like to ever since I got my GTI 2 weeks ago. My Golf R used to give me 32mpg average on my 12 mile commute with congested sections, the Polo does 35-37mpg on the same journey, but because of the low gearing, I never got better than 35mpg doing 80mph on the motorway in the R.
City driving is crap for mpg, whether you have a wound up 1.0 or a torquey 2.0.

Re: "Strange arrow?"
It acts as an indicator for lowest fuel consumption recorded per trip. Similar to the economy indicator found on the BMW's.

Pretty sure it’s the average, as discussed above.Polovivo wrote:It acts as an indicator for lowest fuel consumption recorded per trip. Similar to the economy indicator found on the BMW's.
Mine certainly moves like an average and not like a lowest consumption.
