Question For Sheffield Area GTi Owners.....

Aye up all,

Just a quick question for GTi owners in the Sheffield area.............

When i was lookin' for my new car at the end of 2002 begining of 2003 i was originally intending to get a little 2-seater.... I went out to Direct cars to look at an MG-F that they had and my better half persuaded me to look at a Black X-Reg 5-door Polo GTi. I had never even seen one before....I liked the little car and then ended up searching for a GTi and buying mine......

My question is this............ Does the person who bought that X-Reg 5 door black GTi from Direct Cars in Sheffield use this forum seeing as it was the one that converted me to the GTi in the first place.

We haven't heard from you in a long time, what av you been up to?

As for the black GTi, i'm pretty sure i saw one of them in Chapeltown on Monday. I've only ever seen old women driving them though, so would doubt there on the forum.

P.S. i've just remembered that Cyhliu drives a black GTi but i think he got his in Derby.

Thanks for remembering I had a black GTI! However I bought mine from Wakefield...the dealers there were the only local ones that had any in...

Can't say I've seen an black five-door although I see regularly another three-door around the Fulwood area but thats a V reg too.

Thanks for the replies guys............ Not been on the forum for a while.....Well... Been watching the forums but not had time to sit and read a lot of the posts properly...Been busy at work etc.... But i'm back!!!

M@tt I'm from Chapeltown myself but havn't seen a black GTi in the area yet...Only the graduated tints silver one.......

Cyhliu..... I had the same problem when i was looking for mine........ There was the Black one at Direct cars. Then a red three door at Hazeldons in Baaaarnsley.... I looked on the VW website printed out all the one's i liked the look of around the country and then Gilders spoke to them all to see if any would sell them to Gilders etc... Mine came from a dealer in Hove!!!!!!! Thing is the dealer in Hove had bought the car from Leeds and shipped it down there only for Gilders to ship it all the way back to Sheffield for me!!!!!

I saw a black 5-door in Gilders car park the other month when i took the car in for the re-call.....I wondered then if it was the one i nearly bought cos i've never seen another black 5-door one.

I keep seeing GTi's on the road but only seems to be when i'm out in my other half's lexus!!! And i don't flash at em then cos i would probably leave the GTi driver feeling rather bemused!!! But if you ever get flashed by a Black IS200 then it'll be me

Glad to see you back, i thought you might have sold the GTi for something else. To say we live so close, i haven't seen you out in your Polo, i only see that one with tints rarely though.

I think i saw a red GTi for sale out Baaarnsley way today. I might go and check it out tomorrow morning for the fun of it.
