Doom 3

Post by metz »

As anyone else got doom 3 for the pc?
Its gotta be the scariest game i ever played, thought i was gunna have a heartattack when some demon ripped a hole in the stairs.

If you have a fast enough machine i would recomend it to anyone. I got it to fill the gap until half life 2 is realeased and to be honest half life has got a lot to live upto.
Anyway...back to polos ;-)

So how fast a machine do you need? Or rather, how good does my video card need to be? I've been wondering if all the hype is justified.

Pentium 2.8 or higher or equivalent I think. I've got 512MB RAM, 256MB shiny fast graphics card, but "only" a 850Mhz processor, so Doom 3 is a no-go for me I'm afraid. Besides, nothing can beat CounterStrike v1.5 :D heh heh

Plus I'm still scared witless by AvP2 when all the Aliens pop out from walls/ceilings lol

I prefer driving games tbh - PS2 and Gran Turismo 4 for me methinks!

Ive got an athlon xp 2800, 512ddr 2700 and a geforce 3 ti 500.
I can play on ultra detail but theres the odd skip on fast paced scenes.
Plays great on medium detail though.

Ive got a athlon xp 2400ghz (runs at 2Ghz) 640Mb of SDRAM and a Geforce 3 ti 200. I have the setting on high and it runs fine. I agree about the scaryness, sh*ts me up no end. This maybe because everything about the game, every little detail is designed to making it sh*t scary. Not played it for a while actually, must start again. How far has everyone got?

Downloaded what I thought were the drivers from the creative website but when I go to update them the comp doesnt recognise them as new drivers.
