I'm curious (and struggling to find something definitive on the internet ) about the difference between the Polo GTI TSI 2.0L and Audi A1 40 TFSI 2.0L. Everything I read says the Polo has a TSI engine while the Audi uses a TFSI engine yet they use the exact same power plants and performance figures are identical.
I've always understood that TFSI refers to "Turbo Fuel Stratified Injection" while TSI refers to "Turbocharged Stratified Injection."
Defined as:
TSI is Turbo Stratified injection i.e direct injection in a gasoline engine(petrol) with forced induction(turbo charger).
TFSI is Turbo Fuel Stratified injection i.e direct injection in gasoline engine (petrol) with turbo charger.
Here is the site explaining the difference in depth: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-diffe ... FSI-engine
Or is it just all marketing buzz words now?
Thanks.
TFSI or TSI

It is same engine. I have DKZC in my GTI. Btw DKZC are with OPF while without OPF had CZPC code.

Re: TFSI or TSI
I thought it was as simple as VW\Seat\Skoda call them TSI and Audi calls them TFSI to be different and there is no actual difference in the engines.

Re: TFSI or TSI
It's a matter of wording, otherwise the engines are identical. I always call them TiFoSI engines, but I guess that's just my shortcoming

Re: TFSI or TSI
This is interesting. I checked today (took delivery in May 19 build week was 18 of 2019) and my engine has the code CZPC implyng it isnt fitted with OPF?Dark_cze wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:30 am It is same engine. I have DKZC in my GTI. Btw DKZC are with OPF while without OPF had CZPC code.
To be honest though when in sport mode my car doesnt sound as good as the demo I drove in 2018. Does anyone know what I should look for to confirm if this OPF device is fitted?
Thank you.

Jump underneath you can't miss it, its the big round box before the centre resonator just after the downpipe.
