Hi all,
I just bought my son a 2004 1.2 polo with a few faults I need to fix. First off I’m trying to access the diagnostics using an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter, I’ve used it previously on a Zafira without problem but it won’t talk to the VW ecu.
Does anyone know what protocol it uses?
Several sources suggest ISO9141 but there are several variants of this.
Otherwise does anyone know an app that will work with a generic OBD2 reader?
Thanks all.
Kevin

Re: ECU OBD2 protocol
I recently bought my son a 1.2 Twist. I use the Torque pro app with an elm327 using a cable. Getting it to connect is a mare.
I've found connecting to the adapter to the phone, then to the car, then turning the ignition on, then opening the app will work but it takes a few goes.
