IMPORTANT - please help a fellow v.dubber.

Post by hayesey »

A fellow polo owner who was just getting his styling & performance company off the ground has had everything taken from him by someone who will hopefully rot in hell:

this was posted on www.porka.net & I dont see why he would make it up. I have dealt with him & spoken to him & he is a genuine person who did not deserve this -

Ok this is what has been happeneing - got an order for a set of coilovers, wheels, tyres, body kit, taillights seats and seat mounts - came to about £1480 all in, this was at the last crail show i was at. Then they guy said thats fine and can i pay for it with a cheque? yeah sure says i - so he writes the cheque - give me and an address to send the stuff to and that it. Then a few days later i gets a phone call from the bank the cheque has been cancelled from the senders end. 90% off the goods have already been dispatched (only thing i managed to stop was the wheels)
Got on the phone to the guy - WTF is goin on?? Sorry was the reply - bank messup - give me your bank details and i'll transfer the money, ok so gave him the account number of the business account and the sort code - phone me back 10 minutes later ok the money is being sent right now. 2 days later gets a phone call - my credit limit has been breached - at £5000 - plus it had over £2000 worth of customers money in it at the same time and its all gone! guys mobile has been cut off and the address the parts where sent to is an abandoned petrol station! they have been signed for by someone and dissappeared! i am totally gutted - ive been in tears for the most of the day!
not sure where the guy come from or anything, but he said he saw my advert on a site - could be porka - could be lupogti - could be ukpolos.

We are having to sell the flat, sell one if not both of the cars, sell the bits i have stored and sell all the othe half finished projects too!
The account isnt covered by insurance then i am liable for all interest charges and costs! plus i still have to pay the suppliers too!
In all im down by over £7k and the interest on £5k is bad - £100 or so a week!

Thing is i need ALL of your help!

I have a description of his MK4 Polo and a rough description of him

First him: 6', black hair - green eyes - looked like a broken nose and had a black leather jacket on with a dragon down the back, thats all i remember!

Car: ( I paid more attention to this) - It was a Black 16v 3dr with 14" Le Castell (off the golf cabs) and black LED's on the back - smoked side repeaters and (this biggest thing that stood out) was a huge silver VW logo in the back window - number plate was "S239SPU" - but could be fake!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the number plate has been checked out & apparently its off a Ford Transit Van!!!

This is really bad.

I read it on porky earlier on.

If anyone knows anything about a Black MK4 with a big VW sticker in the back, please let us know.

Christ! what can i say? the guy obviously knew what he was doing.

You could try looking in the car parks next time you go to a show or cruise in that area.

Or just post on loads of forums. Also e-mail magazines like Redline, Max Power and Performance VW. we need to make people aware of this guy

If he has registered on a forum he'll need an email address, surely this could be traced if you talk to the ISP.

I've read his story too on Porka, very sad indeed. It's unbelievable such rats still destroy someone else's life without hesitation.

Still, I know the guy will get what he deserves- such bad karma is not without punishment...

update - things gettin better

Post by hayesey »

this posted on porka.net from andy -
Ok a few more details on this guy - BUT i have been asked not to allow vigilate actions against him as if screw's it up to prosecute him. (This is all i am legally allowed to say) - Garage is situated in Falkirk and is an EX-workshop/garage that offered tyres and exhausts etc. The Bank account that he used was false, no bank has details of him at all. The cheque is now in the hands of the police who are trying to determine where it was made (It is an exact replica of a Bank of Scotland cheque - even has the magnetic unit at the bottom of the cheque)

So far there is good news from the bank - they have found a trace on there computer system of someone entering using falsified details straight in through the front door (could be a bank employee). Therefore it is clearly fraud and clearly the bank is full responsible for reimbursing my money. The Police have informed me that this ISNT the first scam like this that they have been notified of - another tuning and styling supplier in ABERDEEN, in NOTTINGHAM and also in LIVERPOOL has been done in the same way - same man described and different cars everytime - each one relating to the company that they where targetting. (ALL 4 vehicles used the SAME fake number plate - S239SPU) everytime the vehicle has later been recovered burned out.

The total amount stolen by this crew is nearly £100K from the 4 business - the one in Liverpool is close on bankruptcy because of it!

I find myself feeling very lucky and feel for the guys who have been hit worse than me!

Everyone of these thefts has involved an internet connection somehow. I said i would be at the crail thrash that weekend. This has been repeated at EVERY instance. These people know what they are doing and deserve everything they get!

Police say likelyhood of this car turning up at another show is VERY slim!

3 of my suppliers have said their insurance will take care of the cost of the stolen goods. All 4 of the delivery companies are being questioned by the police and everything is looking up.

Still on a sadder note i will still be unable to come down to inters as the police may still have more questions for me!

It's good to hear the police are taking action. I doubt if that would ever be the case here, unfortunately.

Hope it works out!
