Tailgate open warning permanent.

Post by Zeno »

Ok, so I decided to adjust the striker plate as the tailgate was not held tight to the rubber seal when closed.
Now I have a tailgate that seals properly, but have a permanent tailgate open warning light :(
Can't find a tailgate light fitting, perhaps it does not have one :?:

Any ideas :?:

I'd guess that you have over tightened the lock/latch so that it is not fully getting to the normal closed point, have you tried to see what happens if you open the hatch then trip the latch into its closed position with a screwdriver or similar - does the warning go off in that situation?

You are so right
Just done what you suggested and the warning light does go off when the latch is pushed right home.
The latch appears to have two positions. With the adjustment I made the tailgate is being held shut only on the first latch, the micro switch only opens (warning light off) when the latch is in the second position.
I need to readjust the striker place back towards its original position.
As its dark now I can confirm that the Twist does not have a tailgate light.
Thank you for your help. :D
