New Audi A1 18" on a Polo GTi?
I was wondering what the new 18" rims on the Audi A1 would look like on a Polo GTi so with a bit of crude Photoshop work here is the result:
Polo with 18" factory rim: Polo with 18" Audi rim: The Audi rims suit the A1 really well imho but on the Polo I'm still undecided.

I prefer the Brescia’s, although I’m not really that keen on any diamond cut alloys (I’ll be getting a set of powder coated / painted wheels when I get my new GTI+ next year).

In truth I'd probably prefer a set of blacked out 18" rims to match roof and mirror caps but they just so darn expensive if purchased through VW.

The factory wheels suit the car miles better in my opinion but taste is a personal thing

Re: New Audi A1 18" on a Polo GTi?
There’s not much choice of VW alloys for the AW Polo because of the 5x100 bolt pattern (PCD) - most VW’s have a PCD of 5x112.
I have VW Motorsport alloys (anthracite powder coated / painted finish) on my previous generation 6c Polo GTI but they aren’t suitable for the AW Polo GTI because the front axle weight of the current GTI exceeds the load limit of the wheels. I’ll be going aftermarket and picking something from a reputable manufacturer such as BBS, Ronald, OZ etc. which gives lots of choices of wheels that aren’t diamond cut.

Those A1 rims look a lot like the 17" Parkers on the GTI as standard. Brescias look far nicer.
I'm pretty sure the black bits on those Audi rims are screwed in black plastic inserts.

I recently has a wee scratch removed from the front left 18" ..the first quote was about 170 pounds to repair but accepted the guy who quoted 90 pounds and he did a sterling job of it too.SRGTD wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:16 am I prefer the Brescia’s, although I’m not really that keen on any diamond cut alloys (I’ll be getting a set of powder coated / painted wheels when I get my new GTI+ next year).
Please could you also share some images with us once you replace your rims? Thanks.

For me, amazing but true for some wheels, and they even have adhesive under there on some of them as well, according to the workshop instruction sheets!monkeyhanger wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 5:13 pm Those A1 rims look a lot like the 17" Parkers on the GTI as standard. Brescias look far nicer.

Brescia looks better by my opinion. I had problem while looking for aftermarket wheels. I needed wheels with same parameters like brescia (5x100 7,5R18 ET51) and at that time I found just one type ... Brock RC32. I think they look nice and cost half of price of new brescia.

I really like those in Ferric Grey colour. I’ve bookmarked the website in case I can’t find anyone in the UK that sells these wheels.Dark_cze wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 7:18 am Brescia looks better by my opinion. Audi rims look less fussy.
I'm happy with the Parkers for a similar reason.

I'm also not a fan of diamond cut.
I'm planning to refurb my old avignon wheels and putting them on. Just torn between the stock hyper silver pictured or a darker gun metal grey

I'm having a lot of fun with this configuration page using a somewhat brown GTI:

@Ecko, this is my previous generation Polo GTI with anthracite grey VW Motorsport alloys to give you an idea of what a blue Polo with grey alloys looks like;Ecko_1 wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:22 pm I'm also not a fan of diamond cut.

@OomStu_ZA; I’ve been on the BBS website and used their configurator many times before! I really like the BBS SR alloys in Himalaya Grey, and they’ve been on my shortlist for my next car for some time!OomStu_ZA wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:34 pm I'm having a lot of fun with this configuration page using a somewhat brown GTI:
