I've fitted an aftermarket stereo to my 2004 Polo. The original leads from the car fit into the back of the stereo and all is working well, but as soon as I take my keys out of the ignition power stops going to the stereo and all settings are lost.
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I have looked in vain, but I believe an amount of re-wiring is required. I have an adapter (that replicates the original wires and so makes no difference to this) that I can cut and 'adapt' but I can't find anything on the net that's conclusive as to how I should change the wiring. The previous owner had tried to fit a Sony unit that was too deep for the dash, but had made it work by swapping the red & yellow wires of a wiring adapter round.
Is there a guide to which wires need redirecting, or does anyone know?
Thanks in advance...
