Re: Loud windscreen wipers
Bought some new wipers over the weekend and what a difference. Clearly shows the ones they provide aren't the greatest..

Thanks mateSRGTD wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:59 pm It’s really easy and should take no more than 5 minutes to remove the old ones and fit the new ones.
The most important thing to do is to put the wipers into the service position, so you can safely lift the wiper arms away from the screen without damaging the paintwork on the bonnet edge.
This YouTube video shows and explains very well how to change them on a mk5 Golf, but the procedure should be exactly the same on the current model Polo;

Hello S_94,
I would like to ask if your car has a "Rear Drum Brake" or a "Rear Disc Brake"?
Thanks.
Not very clued up when it comes to that stuff but this website says 'Front / rear disc brakes'. https://www.carwow.co.uk/volkswagen/pol ... ifications

115 BHP Polo's have discs
With the latest Polo's you don't have to put the wipers into service position, there is enough room to lift the wipers up when in the parked position, they do not hit the bonnet! Though you have to lift the drivers wiper up first.

Are you saying Bosch blades are bad? Can’t really tell from those smileys.Vonbek2004 wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 8:21 am Bought some new wipers over the weekend and what a difference. Clearly shows the ones they provide aren't the greatest..

I swapped the stock (I believe SWF) for some Bosch Aerotwins. And the difference was night and day. They look very similar in design, but the rubber material must be different.

Re: Loud windscreen wipers
I've replaced my blades but they seem quick squeaky in my opinion.
Can't hear anything with the radio on but they're definitely not quiet when the car is silent. Wondering if there's a problem with the screen itself.

When I replaced mine with Bosch I noticed a difference right away.
What kind of screen wash do you use and have to tried cleaning the screen with a sponge and water to get rid of traffic film.

Hi,
I am thinking of changing my wipers for the GTI+. Please could you confirm if Bosch Aerotwins A864s is the proper fit.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Loud windscreen wipers
This thread prompted me to look out some spares for the future.monkeyhanger wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2019 3:18 pm You need Bosch Aerotwin A864S and you can pay around £19 for the set if you shop around.
I’m a Bosch fan so searched for the A864S pack. Stunned to find Euro Car Parts had them listed at more than £50. Wow!
I used to go straight to ECP for stuff, but this reminded me to search around for everything, every time.
Landed on my doorstep for £17.35 instead via Amazon.
Re: Loud windscreen wipers
Amazon is where I am looking to buy.

Re: Loud windscreen wipers
I got mine from Halfords and they were £30.
Obviously if you are in not in urgent need then you will get them cheaper when buying online..
