Hi, the airbag light just came on all by itself, no reason, no bump or anything !
Its a Polo 6R , 2014 match edition
I tried the manual switch on/ off ignition 3 times thing, but still no go. damn !
Ive got an obdii blutooth & phone app which i use for other car, it doesnt show any fault codes, and there no CEL either.
I bent down, ughh, and wiggled the under seat cables both sides, and switched passenger bag off, but no difference.
Can someone advise the cheapest tool to reset the airbag light, i think i saw one post mentioning U281 or something ?
or
If theres anyone near me, Manchester, with a VCDS or something, that could read off the code for me, / reset the airbag ? i would travel to you.
(I did install a Bury blutooth phone button about 3 months ago working fine, no problems, i used a piggyback fuse on the headlight/no.plate fuse 7, so i checked the fuses in case, but they all look good .)
many thanks

An airbag warning light will not to off until it has been cleared with said tool. You can wiggle all you like but it will stay on. So there is a chance the error is not relevant anymore, despite the light being on.

Hi Ichel, thanks for your reply,
yes i agree, im hoping to get some advise for the tool, which one to buy, ive seen this one
https://www.amazon.co.uk/U281-OBD-2-CAN ... op?ie=UTF8

Could this be the clock spring? Check that your horn works, if not, then it could be that. Happened to us.

Re: help needed airbag light reset or cheap tool
As your car is a 6R and not a 6C, it might stand a better chance of working, though there are some owners of 2008 cars grumpy that it did not work!atopman wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 12:04 pm Hi Ichel, thanks for your reply,

Carista would work okay, but you would need to price it up, Black Friday deals on their own dongle.
Re: help needed airbag light reset or cheap tool
Hi, good news ! i looked into Carista, and i decided to try the app, as i already had a elm327 BT dongle.
I couldnt do much without buying the app, so i got the cheapest one, and then it found the airbag errors.
airbag 9445417
control module for airbags j234
I decided to just clear it, and see what happens, i cleared it okay, and its been 3 days, no issues so far.
So Carista seemed to work with Polo 6R using standard ELM327 dongle.
