I'm changing to All Season Tyres

Post by Nodster »

Hey

So I'm not a fan of the tyres the GTI has come with. The Turanza 001 has already been superseeded by the 001 Evo (2017) and then by the 005 (2018). My last car, came from the factory with Michelin PS4s. No comparison really so I'm bit suprised by VW on the choice of tyre - especially on a 2018/2019 performance car.

Nevertheless, I've decided to go for the quite new Vredestein Quatrac Pro. Apparently it is the first UHP all season to target more powerful cars and SUVs. And I've always wanted to have something a bit safer in the colder months. Looks like in the dry and wet it still does very well.

If anyone is interested I can let you know what they are like. Gone for 225/40/18 92Y at a smidge under £80 a corner.

Cheers.

So did I. I chose Michelin Crossclimates because they perform well under dry conditions. Michelin does'nt call it four season tyres but summer tyres with winter qualities.
I am very satisfied with them. To be honest, I don't feel any difference with the Michelin Primacy 3 I had before. When you don't drive close to the edge (e.g. traffic light sprints, circuit work), these tyres will do fine.
