Indicator Light in instrument binnacle

Post by Sniffergoal »

Is it possible to change the bulb in the instrument binnacle for the direction indicator? My green flashing light for the left hand indicator does not illuminate (indicators work fine) although the right one is fine.

It’s not the loudest click on the indicators so without the nice green flashing light I’ll undoubtedly forget it’s on if I don’t fix it.

Thanks in advance.

I've not done this but think you will need to remove the plastic screen then unscrew the instrument cluster to access the bulb.

Try YouTube for some videos on similar operations.

I know nothing about that issue, never having had it happen to me, but I'd think that the dash pod needs to come out and the solder connections checked at the plug/socket(s) area, as well as examining closely any/all solder joints in the tracking from the connector to that lighting function as I'd expect that the "light" will be a surface mounted LED and not a filament bulb - so maybe a bit more time and effort needed to sort out.

I'm sure that you will report back once you have solved this to provide possible help for those who next need to sort this out.

Update - removed instrument cluster (surprisingly quick and easy) and sent off to specialists to repair.

FYI- I used Cartronix Cluster Repair Specialists nr Portsmouth. They did a grand job, repairing the fault (the LED/diode had gone) and returning the cluster to me within 48hrs (inc post time both ways!). Very professional and I'd definitely recommend.
