Replacing anti-roll bar bushings

Recently had a knocking noise diagnosed as anti roll bar bushings being worn. Never replaced them before what should I expect?

Haven't changed them myself, but had a look at them for future reference whilst changing wishbones. Seems like it would be simple enough, two bolts to remove the holder then pull the old one out and replace. Looks like an extension bit would make getting to the bolts easier. Would probably take as long as getting the wheel arch covers off and back in.

From memory, not a difficult job, probably easier to remove the mounting bracket on both sides at the same time as doing that will make fitting the new bushes easier, just make sure that you buy the right size, for that diameter of ARB bushes, early cars had plastic bonding the end stops onto the ARB and the point where the bushes fitted was bigger/thicker for a given ARB size than for the later ARBs which had welded end stops - the later ones area at the bush locations were the same size as the ARB diameter.
This meant that with early ARBs in sizes 17mm, 19mm, 21mm the mounting bushes needed to be 19mm, 21mm, 23mm - for the revised later ARBs the bushes became 17mm, 19mm, 21mm.

Get both sides of the car up onto axle stands at the same time, the suspension legs/wheels need to hand free to get access to one bolt on each mounting clamp and the suspension legs/wheels need jacked up to get easy access to the other bolt on each side.

Thanks for the replies I had a look when I did my gearbox oil and it looks awkward to get at rather than hard to do. Ordered some Lemforder ones but I ordered too large of an inner diameter (21mm). I decided to take those back and order some from the dealer as I already needed to get a PCV hose. The bushings were around £4.50 each with an 18mm inner diameter. Will hopefully get around to doing it next weekend as the knocking just gets worse and worse especially with the state of the roads at the moment.
