Lowering springs or coil overs?

Post by sm57ruo »

Hi guys

Planning on lowering my car, what would you recommend lowering springs or coil overs?

And which brands/ kits?

It depends on how much you want to lower the car and how much you want to spend... Lowered springs on stock shock absorbers isn't the best option (ok, you can do it but the feeling isn't the same and also the shock absorbed life is reduced). If you're looking for a 30mm drop (more or less) you can choose Eibach (the best option is Pro Kit+ Bilstein B8) but if you want to go lower, there are H&R+Koni kits (-35/45mm, very hard springs compared to eibach) or H&R+Bilsein, Vogtland and many others (we can say that these solution is good for a daily use and preserve a good comfort).

There are also many coilovers but the comfort isn't the same ( ) bilstein b14 is very common but also KW v1 (budget coilovers aren't a good option but AP and many others are good for a light drive)
