How to Disable "check bulb"?

Post by Tony4mikki »

Does anyone know how to disable the "check bulb" on the polo Aw as I've just changed my cornering bulbs (fogs) to led, I have obdeleven and carista, any help would be appreciated.

Presumably the replacements are a far lower wattage (and therefore Amperage) than 55W halogen H7s?

The car thinks they're blown because the correct amperage isn't being drawn. Maybe there are some ballast add-ons you can get that plug in between the bulbs and the socket for them? Maybe there's some kind of workaround via OBD11 and Carista?

Most of the "Canbus friendly" options pull around the full 55W so in effect they're putting out 10x or more lumens than the Halogen equivalent would be.

I know why the message is there I just want to remove the error message ideally without using load resistors as these can get hot, the bulbs were 35watt H8, I'm sure there is a way to do it with obdeleven but I'm not experienced enough to know what to change in the settings but if someone does know and would like to share them I would be very grateful.

There will be options for LED bulbs, but I've always wondered if that option was flexible enough to only cover certain lighting functions or was a global thing.

you need to find the car lamp paths through the VCDS and change them all to "algemeine led mit open diagnose"
