^ I wonder how much fuel economy is affected with that spoiler fitted? Probably not a lot below 40mph.

I like those, where did you find them?
Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
Thanks , yeah they are definitely a nice touch to the interior
I didn’t want something that had to be screwed in or remove any original bits to fit them on, so they were perfect & I got them from eBay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183802132981
It says for golf mk7 but ignore that as they shear the same dsg paddles

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
I wouldn't worry about swapping out the proper one piece units rather than applying the stick-ons, it's a 2 minute job to pull out the securing pin with needle nosed pliers, remove the original paddles and fit the new ones, putting the pin back in.
If you ever want to take the stick on paddle extensions off to return to stock e.g. if you are PCPing or leasing and come to the end of your term, you'll almost certainly pull the paint off. The original paddles are white plastic with clear bits (the + / - bits are clear plastic with a back-light shining through the unpainted surface), the paddle it painted matt black.

Bonnet/grille strip painted black, I think it looks much better this way, for me it's part of the grille, not the bonnet, so it should be grille coloured not bonnet coloured.

^ You didn't fancy wrapping rather than painting it for easily reverting it back to standard when it's sold?
The strip does look like an afterthought by VW in its standard form. That'll almost certainly be something VW will change at facelift time. I'm tempted to wrap mine.

That’ll be when they hit the Polo with the ugly stickmonkeyhanger wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 11:37 am ^ You didn't fancy wrapping rather than painting it for easily reverting it back to standard when it's sold?

It was always said that the bonnet lip on the Polo followed this styling cue on the Arteon. It’ll be interesting to see if the Arteon loses its bonnet lip when it gets it’s mid life facelift.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
Yes I did think about wrapping it, I even bought the wrap (150cm x 10cm matt black wrap), but it didn't look right and wouldn't really go round the sharp top corners properly.monkeyhanger wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 11:37 am ^ You didn't fancy wrapping rather than painting it for easily reverting it back to standard when it's sold?

You can always repaint it - or get it repainted - back to the original Pure White when the time comes for the car to be sold.POLO Clive wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 12:32 pmYes I did think about wrapping it, I even bought the wrap (150cm x 10cm matt black wrap), but it didn't look right and wouldn't really go round the sharp top corners properly.monkeyhanger wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 11:37 am ^ You didn't fancy wrapping rather than painting it for easily reverting it back to standard when it's sold?

Yes of course, but I doubt the colour of this will determine whether or not somebody will buy the car when it comes time to sell it, in any case I won't have to worry about it for a few years yetSRGTD wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 12:43 pm You can always repaint it - or get it repainted - back to the original Pure White when the time comes for the car to be sold.
