Is it possible to turn off the wireless charging pod?

Post by grim007 »

Hey
Since I use the cable with android auto I would like to disable the wireless charging pod.
That way I can actually put stuff there without it getting warm/hot.
I tried looking through the menus, but wasn't able to find the setting anywhere.
Anyone knows if its possible to turn it off?

 If memory serves me correct early Seat Arona’s had the wireless charging pad and with a GSM signal booster incorporated, but theses were recalled and Seat dealers had to deactivate the signal booster following an EU directive but I don’t remember why...

I’ll have a look on Seatcupra.net and see if I can find the post.

The issue was with the signal booster that formed part of the wireless charging option being able to pick up wireless signals from sources that in the UK are illegal to intercept. At the time, cars that had been built and delivered to dealerships with this technology fitted had to have the booster removed before the cars could be delivered to customers.

VW cars with this option were also affected; not sure about Skoda or Audi, but assume they were too.

Today the antenna arrived I connected it but I didn't notice any improvement in the phone reception the screen had 3 lines and after connecting the antenna it continued with the three lines, does anyone know if it is necessary to activate some function with obdeleven?
