Polo 6c Multifunction swap in to no button wheel?

Hi all

I stupidly bought a Match (leather, multifunction w cruise) wheel because I thought it would be plug and play, without much research.

I have a Polo S (with the plastic wheel, no buttons)

I know the steering wheel itself will fit, is there any way to make the buttons work without bankrupting myself (I am only 17) or just forget it and either use it without buttons or cancel the order? The wheel cost me £75 from a breakers yard. I wasn’t a fan of the plastic wheel, I only bought the base model because I got a fantastic deal on it.


I am giving the car to my next door neighbour who is a VW mechanic so what is the rough estimate if I need parts , including labour so I can make my mind up?? I am now getting in deep water with my parents because they think I have thrown money down the drain.
