How close to breaking "something" am I when...

Post by dxg »

... the bass from the stereo is making the driver's wing mirror vibrate

Noticed this morning sitting at traffic lights. But, then, I was aiming for the "trying to get my chest to resonate in psuedo-concert style"

All done by volume rather than messing about with bass/treble, with the stock Gamma headunit.

Deek.

(Maybe this is why my car rattles so much...)

Well, if this is anything to go by, my sister has had her Lupo 18 months now and, she's always banging out the tunes at head-imploding levels and the passenger-side door speaker has just started making some rather abnormal noises.

Unless, you're willing to fork out for some new speakers 18 months or so down the line, best to set the volume to 'normal' levels!

Oh, and yes, radio volume is directly proportional to number of cabin rattles! :D

the mirrors moving is normal (i can barly see in them when i wind mine right up - hence not winding it all the way when driving  ) and yes the bass cabn cause rattles but mainly arround the bass producing speakers (subs) however if you turn the tunes up loud enough then you cant hear the rattles :D

Don't worry, the only thing you'll break is your ear drums!

When I crank mine up, I can't see anything behind me in any of the mirrors - just a blur!

Yep same as everyone else!

Especially after borrowing my mates Pioneer 6400 something rather H/U, I must buy a new H/U when I find one I think half matches the dash! (and I got money!)

The rear screen is a hot spot if your hitting some serious low notes.

Mines got a little crack at the bottom (which i'm certain gets bigger everytime i liten to the stereo)

PS - Thats what happens when you spend the value of your car on ICE.

PS - The first show i attend with my new system i'm going to try and shatter the rear screen! its cracked anyway so i've bought a replacement, but this is something i've always wanted to do (i am extremely childish!)
