2011 6R Polo rear door deadlocked

Hi my son's rear offside car door won't open. I have managed to remove the rear door panel, but cannot get any further. I have tried banging on the door whilst flicking the on /off button. There is plenty of information on youtube for the 6N polo, but I cannot find anything for a 6R or any later VW which would have a similar locking mechanism. I have done a search on here, but perhaps I am not putting the correct search term in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have bought a new lock in readiness. I think the deadlock is engaged.
