Finally picked up my GTI plus

It’s difficult as it’s a small sample on here compared to total number of GTIs registered in the uk. Generally people will only report faults on forums so it looks more of a problem than it might be. Only way to know would be to do a poll of all owners on the site as a sample and then use this sample to work out the percentage based on the total number of gtis sold in the uk. On a personal note the test car I drove definitely didn’t as I purposely checked but was that the exception or the rule? Ultimately it’s not likely to be a deal breaker for most people in determining a purchase but understandably frustrating if you are unlucky to get one that is bothersome.

I purchased mine from the same dealership as yourself, but had a 10 month wait. Good to see VW sorting out the lead times a little bit.

Plenty of people on here with various polo models, so if you do come across any rattles or squeaks, make sure you tell us. Someone will probably have already had / located it, saving you a headache !

I remember with mine ,they did cars in batches. So they'd do a big run of exact spec cars before changing to another spec.
Do you have any other extras such as Brescia wheels or sunroof ? They definitely take more time, as we've seen it before. Almost like VW are waiting for a few more orders with that spec before they put them all through

My dealer says delivery 6 to 8 weeks after build so you’re not likely to get it next month

Yes, I was a bit extravagant & ordered with pano sunroof, electronic aircon, deep iron dash, beats audio & reverse camera, so probably last in the queue

Yours will be on the same boat as mine as I got the 5a SMS on 15th May too.
The boat arrived in Emden on Thursday, my dealer has told me it's approx another 4-5 weeks till handover

I bought mine back in February, went in on a Friday, had a test drive of the salesmans demo and Agreed the deal, picked up the following Wednesday

At that time they had 2 GTI+ in stock, a Red one with 18” wheels and rear camera and a white one with loads of options.

Mines just started with the noise on full lock, sounds like a CV boot squelching, I’m a technician at a Ford main dealer so when im back at work (currently on furlough) I’m going to try spraying some GT85 on the outer boots to see if it is that. Mine also sometimes has a loud ticking noise (like tappets) at idle or very low revs but not all the time.
