Vibration noise when accelerating in sport mode

Post by mitch_g »

I have just purchased a 2019 polo gti and after owning it for 3 days I have noticed that there is a vibration coming from the left hand side of the dashboard when I accelerate in sport mode? Any ideas as to what it is?

At a guess and an easy one to rule in or out before anything else is that it could well be vibration from the soundaktor through the dash if it only happens in sport mode. In individual mode try sport settings except sound in eco or disconnect completely in engine and see if vibration goes.

I had the same issue and turned out to be the engine speaker thing (sound aktor??) and once disabled problem solved.

Thanks both I completed the test advised above put it in individual and turned sport sound off and the vibration was no longer there. This to me pretty much confirms the issue is the soundactivator. I find it strange so many have had this issue why even put it in the car it sounds good enough to me

It’s a cheap way for VW to create what they consider to be a more sporty engine note, although many owners disagree!

Not unusual for owners to turn it down or disable it.
