Since the climatronic retrofit some months ago a buzzing rumor annoied me with AC turned on so I brought car to mechanic to solve that.
He tried to make a second gas charge and finally noise seems disappeared! This made me so happy!



A pair of brakets for bonnet gas lift were left since the first mod so I dediced to add the second one.
Bonnet now lift very easily with no efforts. A bit of force is now needed to push it down.



Now about oil change. I've always used Castrol Edge 5W30 but many people say It's not so goos as we think suggesting to use Bardhal or Motul.
Listening to that suggestions I thought to give it a try and ordered Motul Specific for VW motors.

Do you guys have experiences with different oils or only use Castrol?
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

That's for the bifuel motor (CNKA), I'm note sure It fits your engine. It's not an engine cover, It's the bracket for the GPL rail.

Regarding motor oil, before I used to use Repsol, now Castrol, the manufacturer's recommended references/specifications. Everything went well with both oils.
- Perhaps, and it is a personal thought, Castrol VW 507 for long-life (LL) services (30000 km) is at the limit of what is allowed for my 6R CBZC, I don't have an oil spectrometric analyzer, but after 30000 km I have the feeling that the oil is at the limit of impurities.
- On the other hand, with the Castrol VW 508 LL and after 30000 km in our Golf 7.5 DKRF I had the feeling that this oil would have lasted an additional 10000 - 20000 km.

I suppose the same will happen with all brands of motor oil (taking into account the particularities of each engine - petrol vs diesel -).
I've read a lot about motor oils and all their operating properties (a wide range of oil depending on their use ...to go crazy...) but I prefer not to speculate or test, I use the recommended one.

I understand your point of view Fernando, putting oil suggested by VW will be fine.

I perfectly agree with you changing oil every 15.000 km or once a year (even If I didn't do it before now I changed my mind).

Anyway I read many people (including mechanics) consider castrol has not such a big quality as one time and observed engine works better with different oils (less rumour, less fuel consumption etc) such as Bardhal and Motul. Moreover one guy explained me Castrol is a group 3 oil which mean It's obtained from a mineral base with a hidrocraked process which in Germany is not considered full synth while other oils such as Motul are group 4 which means they are obtained by chemical synthesis so they are 100% synthetic for real.

For those reasons I decided to change oil and I've choosen Motul specific for our motors.
I will give It a try so I can experiment If I feel some improvements or not. I'm not an engine expert so I can only give my honest opinion about it.

So far I've the feeling that engine runs a bit smoother but It's difficoult to verify If It's related to oil type or just to oil change. Probably more feeling will come after more miles!

I'm also curious to see If fuel consumption will have some improvements.
I'll keep you updated.

I'm trying some alogen lamps becayse I really can't see the yellowish of cornering lights next to the xenon.

Today I tried D-Gear GTR 4600K. I'm not so impressed by the results.
