Not a clue! I am quite surprised tbh. I was expecting it at Grimsby as well as my dealer is just down the road from Grimsby. Apparently cars in the middle of the UK however can go to either Sheerness or Grimsby. Either way, not gonna complain

Just spoke with my dealer and the car is on the Isar highway due at Grimsby tomorrow and I should have it in 5-10 days he’s promised me. Best get my dodo juice order on as I want some wax for the car.

And you haven't got a 5c text? If so i'll be ringing mine as i hope mine is on the same boat!

Nope only got 5B this morning, but dealer rang few hours later saying it was in Sheerness.

No 5c text for me but he did hint that the tracker sometimes only updates on a Friday for some reason.

I have just received my 5c sms, my timeline has been the following.
08/01/20 Polo GTI+ ordered.
23/03/20 Original build date, same date as lockdown start
15/05/20 Build complete.
21/07/20 5b sms Polo arrived in Emden Germany.
31/07/20 5c sms.
Close but still no cigar

Assuming the dealerships will have the cars ready within the next few weeks are you going to delay registration until September for a 70 plate?

Nah. I thought about it but my insurance is due on 10th August and my current insurer isn’t cheapest. Plus it’s still a year old when it’s been a year so I’m not denying myself the pleasure of a few weeks of driving the car.

Unless it’s going to be around 20th August before I can have it I’m not delaying. It’s just a plate at the end of the day.

Well according to my dealer the car is still in emden , hopefully on the next boat then!

This will probably be my last post in this feed as I now have a collection date booked. Just thought I'd list my timeline of events if it helps anyone...

27/01/20 - Ordered VW Polo GTI+
03/07/20 - Received 5A Notification (Left Factory)
30/07/20 - Received 5B Notification (Arrived in Emden)
31/07/20 - Dealer confirmed car is actually at the UK port (Sheerness)
10/08/20 - Booked to collect car!

In other words, didn't hear much for 5 months (mainly down to Covid 19), then in the space of a month, car has gone from leaving factory (according to tracker) to been collected from dealer. Pretty much confirms that the tracker isn't overly accurate and in my experience was behind what was actually happening. Either way, I'm very happy with how things have now turned out and I look forward to finally collecting my GTI in 10 days time!

Very nice! I was told my dealer would ring me today to book collection as mine is now in Grimsby but i haven’t heard anything yet.
