Fav colour
I’m sure this has been posted elsewhere.
Got a limestone grey r line. Seeing VW tomorrow to order a new one. Probably stay R Line.
What’s people’s favourite colours? I love limestone but fancy a change. Thinking white silver or black.
Either way with led lights so will look good I think.

Re: Fav colour
Reef blue is my favourite. I know it's a bit of a marmite colour but prefer it over all of the rest even though it does get dirty quick and shows.

Re: Fav colour
White/Silver looks horrendous on the Polo R-Line. I was mistaken between White/Silver and Pure White, I thought the car I was looking at was White/Silver and it happened to be Pure White. Long story short, I ended up with a Pure White (Black Roof Pack) Polo GTI+ and I think that looks amazing.brainbow wrote: Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:21 pm I’m sure this has been posted elsewhere.

I do like Limestone Grey with the GTI and Reef Blue but Blue obviously shows swirl marks.

Re: Fav colour
My favourite colour by far is white silver and if it had been on the Gti+ I would have ordered it but I went for white with black roof pack and agree with Tom it’s the best colour combo for showing off the body creases but as always colour is a very personal thing.

Re: Fav colour
IMO, with a couple of exceptions, the colour choice for the overall Polo range is pretty poor - even more so for the GTI / GTI+ where there are only five colours available.
My favourite colour for the overall Polo range is Energetic Orange. For the GTI / GTI+ it’s Pure White.
These days when I choose a colour, I consider the following;
- ease of maintenance; does it readily show scratches and swirls? If the answer is yes, it’s ruled out for me.
- are stone chips easily disguised when repaired? It’s important for me that they are, as I suffer from car OCD
.
- it you’re unfortunate enough to need paintwork repairs, which colours are more difficult to get a good colour match on?
After going through the above process, are there any colours left that I actually like?
. The answer to that question is yes; Pure White, and as my next car will be a GTI+, I think Pure White works well with the red and black accents on the GTI+, and it shows off the Polo’s design details (body creases) really well.
Colour choice is very personal though and some people’s favourite will be the least favourite for other people. If someone put a gun to my head and asked me what my least favourite colour was for the Polo, it’d be White Silver. IMO, in anything other than bright light it looks like a dull light grey - almost as if VW forgot to apply a colour coat and decided to stop the painting process after the primer coat has been applied. That’s just my opinion though, and it’s good we have different preferences, otherwise we’d all probably be driving around in the same colour cars.

Re: Fav colour
GTI has to be red
To be honest I don’t have a favourite colour, the only colour I’ll never even consider is black, on any car

Re: Fav colour
Agreed, but red is my favourite colour hence why I ordered it in red (and red being the free colour is great). Looks amazing in white and blue as well though. The Random Dan wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:00 am GTI has to be red

Re: Fav colour
Agree about Black. I’ve fallen for it twice. When clean it can look fantastic on the right car but it’s always dirty and shows every scratch and chip. After the first time I was in denial and went for it again only to realise I was right the first time

Re: Fav colour
Only white and black-out bits for me.... although I was tempted by the reef blue at the time of purchase.

Re: Fav colour
Wanted white silver for the GTI but as not possible went for my 2nd choice Limestone Grey, would have any colour except red-not a fan and they go pink over time.

Re: Fav colour
I have a deep black pearl SEL which was the only one I could get my hands on quickly second week in March. New orders were taking about 6/7 months and needed the car as my daughter was buying my previous car.
My first black car but have had dark cars in the past, dark blue etc. I usually use the two bucket method with a hose rinse but have purchased a Worx hydroshot to specifically wash this car and to date it has worked for me. I rinse off car with warm water using the hyroshot then snow foam the car before rinsing again then two bucket wash with lambswool mitt final rinse with hydroshot then dry off with good quality microfibre cloths. To date all looks good and will give it an Autoglym ultra deep shine polish and a good quality wax before winter.
I know that black is really prone to swirls and scratches and follow best advice from various detailers on youtube and detailing forums and hopefully I will be lucky.

Re: Fav colour
Well my wife just ordered a United spec with the Atlantic blue paintwork. Love the Atlantic blue, always wanted a golf gti in that colour.
