blue temp sensor

How would one know if the blue temp sender/sensor had gone?

Mates girlfriend has a audi coupe with simular probs to some of the polo's.
Just wondered how you could tell if it was that or not.

check the resistance with a multimeter. I think there is a section on the clubpolo website somewhere with the correct values
