Drivers door wont unlock

Post by Cmac77 »

Hi there i have a 2010 polo with a bit of a dodgy key. I only have 1 key which the buttons do not work. Have been using it for a while as it still locks, unlocks and starts the car. Well it did! Now the key will not unlock the drivers door. Tried to open the door handle from inside with a coat hanger and some pry bars but it wont open as the door is locked. There are no other barrels to access the car with. Does anyone have any suggestions
Thanks

The key is all taped up, i could probably change it but would that change anything? Wouldnt think it would stop it opening

Sorry, Just re-read your post to see you said the buttons didn't work - so changing the battery isn't really going to help :(

Hello there.

It seems that there is problem with the board of the key.

You can try something easy for beginning.

First of all you need to open the key shell.

Please follow the instructions here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmcxyVachho

You will see that the buttons are pushing some specific points on the board. Please add one drop of pure alcohol and try to clean each point. Be careful, normally the drop will evaporate very shortly, in case not remove the remaining alcohol.

Now try to test it without closing the shell.

Please share your results!
