Newbie question re GPF

Post by Nick85 »

Hi all,

First post here, and happy to be taking delivery of a 1.0 TSI 95 DSG “Match” this week.
As with any car, I like to keep a top-up bottle of oil handy, but I see that the oil spec I require depends on whether I have a petrol particulate filter, or not.
I’m aware that the dealer can type my reg or VIN into their systems to get me the right oil, but how do I know for myself whether my car has the GPF or not?
(It’s either the latest, or very recent model year, as it has the Polo badge in the centre of the bootlid, and Cruise Control standard on the Match spec.)

Many thanks, Nick

If the car was manufactured post mid 2018 then it has GPF.

Thanks Stuart, so I would assume I do have the GPF, and should use VW 504 00, VW 508 00 and ACEA C3 or API CJ-4, according to the online Owners Manual. I’ll double-check with the dealer of course, as a failsafe. Thank you
