Rear bumper problems

Post by Ticketyboo1968 »

Hi folks, new to the forum and hoping for some help from the wealth of knowledge on here. My daughter has a 2010 1.2 6r Polo. She wants a Sportex exhaust put on it, that’s the easy bit, my problem is the back bumper. On her car the tailpipe is hidden under the car, the new exhaust has twin tips. Should I be looking for another bumper or be drilling holes in original one. I have attached some pics, her car is the black one, the white one is what I would like it to look like but I’m unsure what model the bumper is from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, think I’d prefer the GTI bumper, looks neater. Any idea where I could source one ? They seem to be a rare thing having done a bit of a search online.

They got pretty rare but one will always pop up from time to time. If you can't find the 6R gti bumper you can try to look for a 6C as well with the addition that you would have to change the bumper carriers under the taillights.

There is also an attachment that you can glue to your bumber, and in the end looks similar to the gti. It goes under name "REAR VALANCE"

Hi, I seen the rear valence thing, sits a bit low to the ground I think tho. I have sourced a bumper from a 6c that looks promising 🤞

Cheers for reply, I think I may have found one from a 6C but there is no carriers with it, are these easy to source or quicker to go to VW and get them ? Would you have VW oem number ?

6C6807393B and 6C6807394B are for all 6C bumpers except Bluemotion, R-Line and BlueGT.

Also the reflectors on the 6C GTI bumper have the 6C0945106A and 6C0945105A part no.

I got all of these for myself straight from vw since the only retailers that had them were from other countries and the shipping fees were huge, but maybe you can find them on ebay or something (especially since the bumper carriers are the same for most polo 6c)

If you have a BlueMotion and you want to install the oem 6c gti bumper you just have to order the bumper carrier listed above and the bumper. Remove your bumper, replace the bumper carriers and install the new bumper.

Hi, but I dont understand (probably because of my english). You said before bumper carriers 6C6807393B and 6C6807394B are for all 6C bumpers except Bluemotion. Mine is 6c bluemotion. So which is the correct bumper carrier part number I need to install the gti oem bumper? Im asking in order to search on internet with the correct part number.

Thanks in advance mirceaculita :)
