Great to hear as I am leaning on the side of caution (at my age:P) but am so so tempted. What is your current fuel economy? Mine sits around the 7.1 - 7.7L/100KM. With tuning comes increased KW and NM meaning I would need to also replace tyres every 6 months, lol. These Michelen 225/40/18's are costly to replace (set of 4 ±R13.5K). Speaking of, I managed to source another 4 and will be replacing in another 5000KM.Andrewvw8 wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:28 pmI have been stage 2 for around a year now never had a days issuesOomStu_ZA wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:27 am Hi Andrewvw8
Seems this website does not allow for video upload but the WeTransfer worked fine, I have the file. Is it more prominent under accelaration while driving or just is it just at idle?
I also see your vehicle is also stage 2 "ge-tune", just software or does it include hardware? Revo have finally launched their software and am keen to go stage 1 ECU and DSG, at a cost of ±$800.00 (± R12K).

Thank you for the info i am in Johannesburg unfortunately but have heard good things about Barons....OomStu_ZA wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:53 pmWhen my 2008 Polo went in for a service it came back with a noticeable whine from the engine bay thoughtout the rev range while driving. Took it staight back and the mechanic was dumbfounded but conceeded the replacement part was at fault. I dont recall what part it was (bearing related) but it was located in and around the fan belt area as well. I am not a mechanic, sorry I can be of more help boet. Not sure where you located but if you in CPT then Barons N1 is the place to go. I have built a great relationship with the team over the last 20 years and can recommend them 100%. Ask for Rodeny, their service manager.Andrewvw8 wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:09 pmIt gets louder under accelaertaion but only to a point....OomStu_ZA wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:27 am Hi Andrewvw8

To be fair most of my driving is done on the highway so i avg around 6L-7L but in town she is heavy..around 10L...
Ya tyres donst last he he... but that all the fun with a FWD....
If you going to take the car and chase times them i would say go with the best tyers if not there are alot of decent cheaper tyers out there...and different sizes that will be sufficent...

So small update i showed the vidoe to my local Macky and he says it sounds like the Alternator pulley.
so i will pull the belt over the weekend and do a visual and sound inspection.
hopefully a easy fix....
