Diagnose an odd noise for me (if possible)

Post by ad_182_uk »

Still getting used to the car so maybe this noise is something someone else may have heard / know what it is.

Scenario - front windows down due to being warm. Manual mode 2nd / 3rd gear going fairly slow 30mpg-ish. Press accelator and speed up slightly then let off the throttle just above 2000 rpm… almost straight after lifting off there is what sounds almost like a fly stuck in a window for a split moment coming from outside somewhere.

Perhaps it was a slightly metallic sounding noise like an exhuast rattle (miltek gpf back) but checked all clamps (apart from the reducer one going to gpf) and all tight. Also if i try and replicate but in park or neutral i dont get the noise - dont know if thats due to less actual ‘load’ being applied or it proves exhaust not the culprit.

The noise or buzz/rattle whatever can only be heard at like 2-3000 rev range when lifting off and it’s only for a tiny moment, but you know what it’s like when you hear something

Probably just nothing but thought i’d ask.

Could it perhaps be the blow back valve?

Don’t think so as theres a moment after letting off the accelerator before the noise as the revs begin to drop.
