2012 Match - window regulator

Post by Johnnymac »

Hi. Does anyone have any rough idea of what a nearside regulator replacement by a mechanic would cost inc parts? Is there anyway to prolong the life of a regulator? Greasing? Or are the doomed to fail?

By design, the cable can get wet and fail. The regulator is about 50-100 euros depending on brand, fitting would be an hours labour, including diagnosis etc.
So anywhere around 150 euros would be ok.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure what brand was used but the window was stuck 'open' and it was raining. It cost around £200 stopped and fitted

Re: 2014 Polo - window regulator repair

I have a 2014 Polo and the passenger window doesn't close fully and makes a grinding noise, the motor sounds fine so I think it only requires a new regulator. How long should it take a VW approved dealership to repair?
I'm new to the forum and hope I'm posting in the right place as forum says cars 2009 - 2017 are MK 8 and 9, whereas I thought for my age I was a Mark 5?
