Lane departure

Post by radiouser »

I have an issue with lane departure warning.I can turn it off before starting a journey and it will activate itself at 40mph.The problem is that when travelling along winding Cornish roads it will attempt to pull me either left or right as it is picking up the tram lines on the road surface,on more than one occasion it has nearly had me in the hedge!.I have spoken to my local dealer Yeoman VW Helston and they say that it is a safety feature that cannot be permantly disabled. Some safety feature that attempts to put your car in the ditch!
Anyone else found an issue with this ? For me had i known i would not have bought another Polo.

When I turn it off it stays off.
When using traffic assist, it will engage again.
When turning off traffic assist it is still off.

If you turn it off when the car is switched on (button on end of left stalk followed by ok) it stays off unless you either turn it back on or you enable traffic assist.

It is indeed a complete PITA having to switch it off every time you hit the start button.

Can cause more trouble than it's worth. Please VW just let us drive the car.

Followed by the very annoying NAV display being the default start screen.

Thanks for the replies. I have found the button on the left stalk and will try it out in the morning.

Not sure what’s going on with your car, but the nav display isn’t my default start? I always start on whatever screen I left it on, so radio, car play (once it’s done logging in by itself), etc.
