😶 the UP GTI 2017-> 'PQ25' has a Soundaktor... 🤭

Image
easy. (TJ4, 1.0 TSI)

---

edit.

After some reading, some UP owners do not like the operation of Lane Assist due to the 'PING-PONG effect', that is, it does not hold the guidance (Adaptive lane guidance https://imgur.com/RqgzmAr , https://vwcoding.ru/MQB/3Q0_assistants/), it only assists when the vehicle is very close or run over the road lines.

...and also they don't like that the Soundaktor cannot be deactivated with a 'OEM' button. If a button is installed, diagnostic faults are generated.
Note: as in other VW models, the Soundaktor can be disabled (0% sound) or reduce its operation (e.g. 50% sound) in the Adaptation channels (VCDS, ODIS, etc.).

are you planning to fit the A5 camera to your Polo? it probably won't add any function, since you already have HBA via mirror.
the Polo 6R steering rack doesn't do lane assist, the ABS probably won't do city brake assist and DLA isn't an option I think with the 6R0 / 6C0 headlights.

Not yet, I'm in the recovery phase, you know... it will still take me another half year of peace and quiet and "good food"... and the damn medications.
I was just researching other things and stumbled upon this.🤷‍♂️

Yeah, technically I already know what is and isn't possible on my little toy, but maybe it will help those other PQ25s where it's technically possible.

Thank you for the report.👍
As you can see these '3Q0' cameras need to be calibrated... with the dot panel.

Through the appropriate channels I have recently been informed that initial Dynamic Calibration is possible also for the '3Q0' cameras (same as in 2Q0 cameras) without printed VAS board (dot panel) through an acceptable procedure with the appropriate diagnostic tools.😊

I’m really interested to get lane assist + sign assist
In 7E0.. H84 BCM you will get A5 in can getaway

To make it possible to do basic settings/ calibration
I need to solve the other fault first (electric steering wheel)
I have saw MrCollayder how had already swap his steering wheel:
https://www.drive2.ru/l/646217619333976450/

So I guess it’s possible, but my concerns is about my cluster that I think it doesn’t support lane assist, since it doesn’t have any lane assist led

Here is a video that shows lane assist on vw up :

Thank you very much for the link to D2.👌
A very interesting link, sometimes I think D2 users don't have fun, they don't drink vodka, they don't party... I think they think all day and sleep in the car. 😂

Some info in case someone reads the link and wants to download (from Yandex) the firmwares and parameters that were posted in the links.

Coincidentally, I also saw the YouTube video of how lane assist works in a VW UP! ...hmm... maybe Slavik can help you on how to display the lane assist in your Cluster, although I suppose it will be a complex task.

HI all!
Yes, I've swapped my steering column and already retrofit A5 camera)) BUT! I've forgotten about one more button special for the lane assist :D So, camera is alredy calibrated, but lane assist still doesn't work
We need a custom bracket for the 3q0 camera, wiring, yes, and than calibration... without a special dot panel.
For this we need to change some adaptations using 89687 code to be able to change those developer adaptations.
More detailed you can read here using google translate https://www.drive2.ru/l/648813566287152070/.
So, the only A5 camera is P because of pq25 coding. No other camera accepts pq25 coding. I tried H-, L-, Q- and S- cameras)))
Parameter file for P- camera (vw Up) you can find on mibsolution.one. Use guest/guest to log on.
That's my solution: Image

When I place the forgotten button, I'll tell your the results.

@ MrCollayder
Any updates on your experimentation ?
Seems promising up to now so I have a plan for a similar experimentation on my pq25 Toledo.

Seems promising up to now so I have a plan for a similar experimentation on my pq25 Toledo.
I couldn't get the P camera to work. No faults, but also no work. Can-combi, A5 activated in the GW, dashboard with lane assist indicator, but nothing. There are 0 lanes recognized by the camera. My bcm is 7e0937090e_0772 from the factory. I've flashed it into 1s0937090m_0780, but nothing.

2 points to think about:
1. Need to check 1s0937090m bcm from the factory, not flashed. Guess, that it has rather different eeprom. Why? Because lane assist button uses the same pin that headlight washer. My flashed 1s0 bcm didn't react to the button, but headlight washer works. Eeprom? 99.9%
2. Dashboard. Up's dash has only indicator. Neither lane assist menus nor pictures. So it seems to me that pq25 sw (polo, amarok, T6) of vdo dash have locked lane assist indications. I'm noy sure, but it really seems to me. Of course, eeprom was corrected, but nothing.
Also dash from UP has an interesting adaptation "Lane assisnt active, yes/no", but no one vdo dash has it. Eeprom again? I doubt it very much.
But there is a good news:
Can powertrain + non-pq25 coding (pq35) makes the camera to work. Yes, there will be a fault in the GW "A5 lost connection" but lane assist will work. Also there won't be any indication on the dash. Because of GW fault.

The work you do is really impressive, thank you very much for sharing all your effort.👌

According to the video with the 3q0 H camera, this is how the Lane Assist works without 'Adaptive Lane Guidance' https://imgur.com/RqgzmAr, which does not allow you to take your hands off the wheel at any time because the well-known ping-pong effect occurs, and sometimes, as in the video, 'this lane assist' is not able to keep the vehicle in the lane.
- With the 2q0 cameras (evolution) and without the 'Adaptive lane guidance' active, the Lane Assist is a little better than with the 3q0 cameras. The ping-pong effect is not so pronounced.
- With the 2q0 cameras and with 'Adaptive lane guidance' active, the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane (or corrected according to preferences/driving habits), it is a real pleasure to enjoy it with a high percentage of reliability, although not 100%, there are conditions (atmospheric, environmental) in which the camera cannot 'see' (sunrise or sunset due to reflections on the road, or snowy areas mainly). These cameras 'see' a grey scale to identify the lines painted on the road.
The 2Q0 cameras do not maintain the lane on very sharp curves.

Nowadays, there are probably cameras that work much better than those mentioned, but at this point I can only say that the 2Q0 is that point where it still allows you to drive with a high percentage of safety and also 'crazyly' 🤭 (it's a real pleasure).

Evolutions towards fully autonomous driving.

Eh, 3q without ALG is not that horrible as you make it out to be. If you set every setting to early on H sw, you can easily maintain the car in the center of the road, given there are road markings, without the so called ping-pong effect. ALG does improve things by a lot but sadly it's not possible to use it alongside with PQ network mode.
Ofcourse keep your hands near the steering wheel and be ready to assume control at any moment.
