Potentially yes, but tbh i am so insanely busy its hard to say when it would be.

If you could get it scanned, that would be helpful to confirm the issue

Thanks for the reply, yes Ideally I need to get the error code, I assume I need a tool to read the OBD port, could you recommend a tool to do this, or a cable and software to read the fault codes?

Thanks to alexperkins for this. Just done this repair successfully 12 years after you posted this how to.
Just to let anyone trying this know, the cracks in the solder are very hard to see. I found taking a photo and zooming in was the best way to see how bad the connections were.
And cutting through the cover is torture, it takes ages and plenty of patience. Just be careful.
